The Story of J. K. Rowling is one of my favorite success stories. J. K. Rowling was a single mother living on welfare in England. She had all the Harry Potter books in her head. When she finished the first one, she submitted it to a publisher who laughed at her and said no one would buy a book about a wizard! Numerous publishers turned her down but she kept trying. And the rest is history.
