IS THERE REALLY A REASON FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS?
I struggle with the adage that “everything happens for a reason”. I don’t know that I fully believe that. I think we say that to ourselves to get through and make ourselves feel better.
I do know that there is never a reason for a child to die. Losing a child makes life seem meaningless and no words of coping make any difference.
However, I do know that we can create a reason to live by from the bad that happens. We can learn from that reason thus finding a better life. Tragedy humbles a person and from that we change to a much kinder and gentler nature and experience life differently. That in itself can be a reason.
And as for finding any possible trace of a reason to endure the loss of a child, the closest thing I can think of is to honor that person by helping others.
